Do you know these social clubs in Sotogrande?

social clubs

They have their origin in England, and they are a hundred-year-old tradition. The most famous ones are well known by everyone and they enjoy an excellent reputation. However only their members really know what it is to enjoy their exclusive activities. We are talking about social clubs. Today in our blog we would like to delve into the ones that are located in one of the most select areas of Spain: Sotogrande.

As we have said before, when we talked about many of the privileges of living in Sotogrande, without any doubt, their social clubs are one of them.

La Reserva:

There are many reasons why this leisure area is one of the most luxury places in Andalucía. It is located in the heart of Sotogrande. From its lands the Mediterranean Sea and Gibraltar can be spotted, and at the same time, be surrounded by lush vegetation. This club is able to give you total relax thanks to its fresh air and quiet atmosphere.

This club stands out for its family environment and its leisure offer for all members. Among the most sophisticated activities we find:

  • Private beach:

La Reserva beach is an amazing indoor fresh water man-made lagoon that has 2,800 square metres of sandy beach and a complete offering of exclusive amenities for the entire family. It includes from restaurants to water sports, tennis or paddle tennis. It is the first and the only private beach in Andalucía and the largest in Europe. There are often music live performances from jazz to soul to flamenco, or music from different DJs.

  • Golf link:

The club has a modern 18-hole golf course designed by renowned architects.

  • Racquet sports:

Playing sports such as tennis and paddle tennis is typical in Sotogrande. They are part of its essence. Four competition clay courts form the tennis centre of La Reserva. You can take not only private and professional lessons there, but also adapted lessons to train the beginners at the Tennis Academy. Paddle tennis is practised in five courts, where all kind of training also takes

  • Restaturants:

In addition to the gastronomic space that can be found at La Reserva beach, characterized by natural and organic ingredients used in an international cuisine with Andalusian roots, L’olive restaurant is another great option. Find authentic Andalusian recipes with a contemporary European twist.

Menu is based on locally sourced, seasonal ingredients, such as freshly caught fish, vegetables, herbs or freshly picked wild mushrooms. Besides, its facilities offer other activities as yoga, horse riding or polo lessons.

Trocadero:

If you are looking for a club that pays special attention to its culinary offer above everything else, Trocadero is your best option. This group of restaurants with various establishments throughout Costa del Sol has an exclusive social club in Sotogrande.

It is a historic club since it rests on the old and legendary club “El Cucurucho”.  Some remarkable facts about it:

  • Gastronomy:

You can visit two very different restaurants but equally sophisticated. Firstly, the traditional restaurant, with Mediterranean cuisine, where The Jamón de Jabugo and the Almadraba tuna stand out in its menu.

But if you prefer international flavours, the Asian restaurant is the right choice, with a fusion of Thai and Japanese cuisine. Besides, the cocktail bar provides a wide selection of drinks adapted to the most exquisite tastes.

It has been exquisitely decorated by Lorenzo Queipo de Llano, inspired by the 19th  century English wealthy colonial haciendas. Their interiors include every detail such as Victorian furniture accompanied by animal faux furs, blade ceiling fans and wooden ceilings. Outside, we can enjoy round pools, grass everywhere, palm trees, straw umbrellas and all kinds of hammocks

 Social sport clubs:

Sotogrande is a land of golf, polo and sailing. Therefore, there is no lack of options to practice these sports. However, these clubs not only host sports events, but they are also a meeting point to promote social relations among their members. For this reason and for the exceptional quality of their activities beyond golf and polo, there are some important remarks about these social clubs:

Santa María Polo Club:

This was the first association created in Sotogrande, specifically in 1965. It is linked to one of the most important polo institutions in Europe, the social club of Santa María Polo Club. During the tournaments, a wide range of products can be found in different stands. The event par excellence is the International Polo Tournament, widely known in the continent.

 Casa Club Golf Sotogrande:

it stands out for its luxurious restaurant and its shop with a wide variety of items, especially designed to have a good time in its excellent golf courses.

Christmas decoration ideas to impress your guests

Christmas decoration

Christmas is fast-approaching and numerous preparations need to be made before its arrival. Planning your holidays and your menu for special days like Christmas Eve or New Year’s Eve, buying presents and, obviously, decorating your home for these events are some of them. Christmas is coming, so today we couldn’t resist bringing you some Christmas decoration suggestions to impress your guests. We hope they will inspire you!

There’s no accounting for taste. For this reason, we can find many types of Christmas decoration, since each person likes giving a special and personal touch to their homes.  As any other type of decoration, it is important to pay attention to detail. We recommend you some decorative styles so you can start planning yours.

Fairy tale style.

Christmas is meant for children. It’s the best time of the year for many of them, who have been waiting for these days for months. That’s why the excitement of the little ones is always present in the family environment. To add a dose of childhood to the atmosphere, consider using this type of decoration based on traditional stories. Here the main characters will be figures like tin soldiers, nutcrackers, or Santa Claus and forest ornaments, such as pine cones and other forest fruits- If you decorate a Christmas tree following this style, you will have that lovely place that you were looking for.

Christmas decoration

 Scandinavian style.

This style has been a trend for years and it has come to stay. Christmas Scandinavian decoration is in vogue. White and neutral tones are mixed with simple adornments (such as elves and Christmas ornaments) of light colours which are made of natural materials or fabric. It is an almost minimalist style, where original Christmas trees can stand out. They are far from the classic fir tree of green branches. They look like old trunks with hanging ornaments.

 Rustic style.

We love feeling a climate of comfort at Christmas. This is why we think you should choose your Christmas decoration based on rustic style. What is more welcoming than wood? Brown and beige tones will be a plus if you combine them with wooden articles inspired by nature, such as garlands, pine cones, Christmas ornaments and animal motifs for the tree. If you want to feel yourself as if you were spending these days in the middle of the mountains, you will need a special touch: a tree with snowy branches will be perfect.

Christmas decoration

Luminous style.

This is the most luminous time of the year. We find lights in the street, in the stores, in the facades… and your home can’t be less bright. The possibilities that offer this style are endless, and you can even combine it with the above styles. Lights will provide an elegant touch to your rooms. You can put them on the tree, inside vases, on your mirrors, over your bed etc. If you make your home bright with glamour and sophistication, nobody will remain indifferent.

Christmas decoration

Tropical style.

If you are a daring person and you think that traditional Christmas is boring; or you need to feel the tropical heat even in winter, it’s possible to create fun Christmas decoration in yellow and pink tones. This style replaces firs with palm trees, wood with wicker and pine cones with pineapples.

Whatever style you choose, remember that you can not only change your living room with these suggestions of Christmas decoration, but also do the same with any other part of your house. From kitchens to bathrooms, there is room for Christmas anywhere.

Christmas decoration for bathroom.

Maybe you have never thought about it, but why not add red socks or Christmas bells to your bathroom? Put lights on the mirror or little minimalist table trees on furniture or on the sink. There even Christmas accessories designed to put the soap! Besides, you can add theme stickers to the shower screen or use curtains with Christmas ornaments.

Christmas decoration for kitchen.

This is an important  part of the house, especially during Christmas. It’s the place where we will cook delicious dishes that will be served in family dinners and meals. For this reason, we think it’s essential that the spirit of Christmas spreads all over the walls and furniture. However, as it should be a practical space, it is not advisable to over decorate it. It would be a better option to use simple items like kitchen towels with Christmas drawings, garlands placed in such a way as not to disturb the pace, and hanging ornaments from door handles.

Be sure to follow all these ideas with luxury and exclusive products. For example, you can use Spanish porcelain figures or French crystal. We also recommend you the sophisticated ornament collections of the German firm Krebs Glas Lausche. This family company currently led by the fourth generation, manufactured in 2008 a beautiful red gold ball of 12 carats and 120 diamonds and continues specialized in this type of objects.

Restoring your skin after summer with these keys

vitamins for skin

If your skin is still suffering the excesses of summer, we would like to offer you these keys to restore it. Doses of vitamins for skin will make your skin shine again.

Leaving our daily routine takes  its toll on us, so we have  to get back into our routine again. If we followthese fair advices,  it won’t take us long to restore our skin and  body. You will leave the summer excesses behind.

Among the agents that most affect the skin in summer, there’s no doubt that the sun is the main factor. It is the responsible for causing sunburns and sun skins . Besides, the most penetrating UVA rays destroy collagen and ellastin fibers in the skin  , causing  skin ageing and the appearance of wrinkles. However, other factors also affect the skin, for example: humidity, temperature changes, salt and chlorine from swimming pools, and, of course, our routine changes.

vitamins for the skin

Basic tips to restore and provide vitamins for skin

– Rehydrating our skin: dermatologists often use hyaluronic acid in mesotheraphy to moisturize the skin.

– During summer, the skin gets dirty. It is recommended to get an appropriate facial cleansing with mild skin care products and exfoliation.

– If skin spots increase or new ones appear, you may perform a chemical peel  and use pulsed light to eliminate them. This process should only be followed once the tan has faded.

– Drinking plenty of water and juices.

– While it is advisable to use regenerating cream and moisturizers, in autumn the best thing you can do is apply creams with stronger active ingredients  such a retinoic or glycolic acid. They are not used in summer because the skin is more exposed to sunlight.

– Following a physical peel treatment to remove dry skin cells.

– Eating a balance diet including food enriched with vitamins   A and C, such as carrots and carotenes.

– Continuing to apply sunscreen.

–  In autumn you should look for cream or liquid make up to moisturize and not to dry your skin out.

–  Mesotherapy is a key treatment that facilitates the active agents’ absorption. It allows nutrients and other products to be more effective providing our skin with those vitamins for the skin that are so necessary.

vitamins for the skin

Once your skin is recovered thanks to these tips, it’s time to start more specific treatments to get ready for the coming season: Winter. Cold months and big temperature changes can be aggressive to our skin. Especially, areas such as lips and hands but, most of all, the face.

-Apply moisturizing lotion: although not recommended by experts, it is a common procedure to wash your face with soap. The reason is because it removes the natural oil of our skin. Instead, the best option is to use moisturizing cream after our bath, once the pores have dilated enough. Following this tip, we will fight better against the dehydration of the skin.

– Use soft sponges: Sometimes we use abrasive sponges that exfoliates our skin to avoid the dry appearance which is caused by winter. However, abuse of this action during cold days is counterproductive, since it wears the outer layer  away and causes more scaling and dryness. For this reason, we encourage  the use of soft sponges.

–  Anti-acne cares: if you suffer from acne this is the right time to treat it. These kinds of cares, specially, the most aggressive ones, contain photosensitive isotretinoin and their application is not recommended when sun is too hot.

However, you should not forget that sunscreen must be used even during the winter. The reason is that skin is more vulnerable to the sun when you apply these cares and skin spots can appear even in this season. Besides, it is important to take into account this advice even if you are not following an anti-acne treatment. Protecting yourself of the sun light is vital in any season.

As it has been  said before, it is important to follow a diet. We are what we eat and our appearance shows it. To regain your figure and makes your skin shine, it is necessary that after holiday you follow a balanced diet rich vitamins A, E and C.

Discover rigorous hydration routines to provide vitamins for skin

The first commandment to restore your skin that we recommend and we consider as the maximum hydration, is to replenish nutrients and water that the skin has lost during the summer. Doing that, it will have a young, firm and luminous appearance. Pay more attention to sensitive areas such as face, eye contour, neck and neckline. It is advisable to establish a hydration routine with products like cleanser, night cream, tonic or serum. But don’t delude yourself, oily skin with tendency to the appearance of pimples can be dehydrated too.

We hope that these tips have been very helpful to you and that you follow them as we have said.

Do you know where to buy the best diamonds?

Diamonds

Diamond is the jewelry piece par excellence, a whim that only few are able to resist. How many times have you stared at its beauty in shop windows? But when you have to decide what diamonds you are going to buy, you can’t get along with just anything. These jewels are going to be with you forever and you shouldn’t purchase them hastily.

Before leaving you the list with the best places to buy diamonds, we can’t miss the opportunity to offer you a few tips that should be taken into account before make the decision.  Pay attention!

Diamond Cut: The diamond cut is the most important element to consider when buying a diamond. Depending on the size of the piece, its sparkle will be greater or lesser. Besides, a small diamond may appear dull, so we recommend you always to choose the biggest diamond cut for your budget allowance.

Diamond color: Maybe you have never thought about the importance of diamond color, because actually they are colorless. But this is exactly the key. The less noticeable a diamond is the more qualified they’ll be. If we notice a yellowish tone, it would be better to ask for a different piece.

Diamond Clarity: This refers to its purity, its imperfections on the surface and internally too. This is the least important factor when choosing a diamond, as usually, we don’t appreciate these superfluous and internal mistakes to the naked eye because they are microscopic. Albeit, we should take these mistakes into account too.

Diamond Carat Weight: This may be the best known feature of a diamond. Sometimes we confused it with its size but, actually, when we speak of carats we refer to its weight. In any case, both are related and we can’t buy a good diamond without keeping this in mind. For example, a larger carat diamond with a poor size may look smaller than a smaller diamond which weight is greater.

In addition to these characteristics that make up the 4 C of a diamond (cut, color, clarity and carat weight) it is necessary to keep also in mind the form and know if it has a certificate from a gemological institute.

Once we keep all these tips in mind, we can go to the best places to buy diamonds:

Graff Diamonds

This is, possibly, one of the most important diamond firms in the world.  The English Laurence Graff  founded it in 1960 and since that date it has never decreased in terms of quality and excellence. Diamonds

Although we also know it to be a watch factory, their diamonds also possess great quality. Louis-François Cartier founded it in 1847, even before the previous ones. His pieces are characterized by having their own personality, being excellent, delicate and unique. It is one of the firms par excellence of celebrities and royalty and they are known as “the jewelers of the kings”. One of its most renowned jewels is the “Panther of Cartier”, which is usually a panther-shaped brooch covered with diamonds and others jewels and metals.

Diamonds

Nowadays, everyone knows the name like this but it wasn’t the primitive one. This New York jewelry, opened for the first time in 1837 with the name of stationery and fancy goods emporium. Now with the name of Tiffany & Co. Currently it is, almost certainly, the most famous diamonds shop. In front of its shop windows Holly Golightly, the character of the legendary Audrey Hepburn in “Breakfast at Tiffany’s”, used to have breakfast. This is because it’s worth to contemplate its jewels. During its history the firm has been concerned with diamonds as a main piece in its works and, as pioneers in Art Nouveau, they have always opted for avant-garde designs. Among their pieces, Diamonds for engagement rings are the most prominent.
